Certified Dog Behavior Specialist
Brief info
A immigrant turned entrepreneur. Since very young, Daphne had very natural instincts when working with animals. Growing up in Mexico DF, she was exposed to police dog training by her abuelito Manolo (Chief of Police). Got to meet and sometimes help raise police dogs before they joined their k9 training. Mexico has a lot of strays roaming the streets, this can cause issues in neighborhoods. Her abuelito Roberto would gather her and her cousins to help capture these strays to get them spayed or neutered.
Daphne immigrated with her family and moved to Chicago at 10yo. Being undocumented, once Daphne became a teen, she had find a source of income to help her and her family. Since she was unable to work a “real” job, she started her own dog walking business at 17yo. As life would have it, Daphne ended up working mostly with dogs who struggled with behavioral issues; fear, anxiety, aggression & reactivity. She knew then, that she had found not just her passion but also her purpose and future career field.
Once granted DACA, Daphne continued to expand her education when it came to working with dogs. Working as a handler, walker, sitter, groomer assistant, and taking various courses and seminars to be the best thats she could at a job that she loved. Daphne eventually graduated from FetchFind Academy, a Chicago dog trainer and behavior specialist school.
After working for Found and Anything Is Pawzible (the top two training businesses in Chicago), she decided to venture off and do what she always dreamed of, opening her own dog training business- A Dog Trainer Life
.
