Q: Is swimming good for dogs?

A: Swimming is one of the best overall exercises for dogs and it works every major muscle group in the body. Not only is it a total body workout but a 5 minute swim is equivalent to a 20 min walk.

A: Dogs with mobility issues or weight issues can utilize the buoyance of the water to help them move “lighter” and of course it’s FUN!

Does my dog have to know how to swim?

A: Your dog does not have to know how to swim. We have life jackets and can teach those pups to whom swimming doesn’t come natural.

How long are water sessions?

A: Currently we have 25 minute sessions and 45 minute sessions.

Can I get in the water with my dog?

A: Illinois law states you cannot get in the water with your dog however we have ramps and a cat walk to help you encourage your pups progress

Does my dog need to be vaccinated?

A:We require Rabies Distemper and bordetella and a fecal test every 6 months. (We do accept titers)

human and dog. With access to pools, agility, obedience and play, Daphne and
Tamara’s program aims to balance between obedience, mental exercise, physical
exercise and neutrality. Just like humans, all dogs learn differently, have motivations
that differ from day-to-day, and more often than not are mentally bored.

How can we prepare for a visit?

A:Tips and suggestions for an awesome visit to our facility.

Your dog MUST be leashed at all times when entering and utilizing our facility. (except when in pool area or instructed by a specialist)

If you use a retractable leash which we (HIGHLY discourage) it must be locked at no more than 3 feet of length when entering and utilizing our facility.

If you have a reactive dog you must CALL BEFORE ENTERING our facility.
If your dog is sick keep them home aside from the potential of contagiousness ill pets don’t operate at their full potential
